Over the years, the Lazaridis Institute has proudly supported and sponsored numerous awards and events that recognize and celebrate excellence in research, addressing the unique challenges and opportunities faced by high-growth tech firms.
Through strategic partnerships with leading academic and industry organizations, the institute has established prestigious awards that spotlight groundbreaking research in this dynamic field. These initiatives not only honour exceptional contributions but also foster innovation and advance critical knowledge essential to the success of technology enterprises.
In 2024, the institute will continue sponsoring the Canadian Academic Accounting Association's Best Paper Award, which, in the view of the Prize Committee, will best address issues relevant to technology companies or the use of technology in an accounting context.
The institute will also continue sponsoring the American Marketing Association’s Innovation and Interactivity Special Interest Group (TechSIG) award for the best paper on marketing practices related to innovation, technology, and interactivity.
The American Marketing Association's Innovation, Technology and Interactivity Special Interest Group ("TechSIG") is pleased to announce that the Lazaridis Institute will award an annual prize of $1,500 USD and a related plaque for the "Best Paper for Research on the Practice of Marketing as it relates to Innovation, Technology and Interactivity, sponsored by the Lazaridis Institute for the Management of Technology Enterprises". Informally, the prize is known as the AMA TechSIG Lazaridis Prize and is announced annually at the AMA Summer Educators Conference.
The AMA TechSIG Lazaridis Prize is awarded to the paper published in the preceding year that best, in the interpretation of the Prize Committee, addresses issues relevant to the practice of marketing as it relates to innovation, technology and interactivity.
Nominations are sought from the AMA community; nominators may forward one journal article that was published the preceding year.

The Prize (plaque and $2,000 CAD) is awarded to the paper that, in the interpretation of the Prize Committee, best addresses issues relevant to technology companies (and/or the use of technology by companies) in an accounting context, with topics including but not limited to:
- Firm growth
- Firm decision-making
- Firms in transition, including the impact of venture capital, IPO and M&A activities;
- Governance;
- Innovation, including the use of automation in auditing or accounting;
- Financial reporting.

The Lazaridis Institute SMEs and International Entrepreneurship Best Paper Award of $1,500 USD and plaque will be awarded at the Gala Dinner of the annual EIBA Conference.
The Best Paper Award will be presented to the paper that best, in the interpretation of the Judging Committee, addresses SME and International Entrepreneurship issues that:

Known as the TIMES Best Dissertation Awards sponsored by Lazaridis Institute, TIMES will award cash prizes to the finalists of the competition, including a new top prize of $800 USD for the winner.
The competition is open to all graduate students who have defended their dissertations within the past two years. All research topics that fit within the section's main domains (technology, innovation management and entrepreneurship) are eligible.

The Lazaridis Institute is pleased to announce that it is partnering with the Journal of Business Venturing (JBV) to recognize exceptional research published in that journal.
JBV provides a scholarly forum for sharing useful and interesting theories, narratives, and interpretations of the antecedents, mechanisms, and/or consequences of entrepreneurship. It is a multi-disciplinary, multi-functional, and multi-contextual journal publishing entrepreneurship research that is widely recognized as the premiere journal in the field of entrepreneurship. JBV is a Financial Times Top 50 Journal, and leads the field in all pertinent metrics of impact.
This year, the JBV editorial board decided to reinstitute the Best Paper Award, including retrospective recognition of highly impactful articles.
