About the Lazaridis Institute

The mandate of the Lazaridis Institute for the Management of Technology Enterprises is to support Canadian technology companies as they grow to global scale.

Our Mission and Vision

Our mission is to increase domestic prosperity by making Canadian technology entrepreneurs globally competitive. Our vision is to be the global authority on the management of high-growth technology firms.

Created in 2015 with investments by Mike Lazaridis and the Government of Ontario, the Lazaridis Institute supports Canadian tech through research, programming and education.

Our Impact

Research

Working with an international network of highly regarded scholars, the Institute conducts leading-edge research across all management disciplines. We generate meaningful insights for high-growth technology companies and we support research excellence through various grants, international awards, and sponsorships.

Canadian Technology Companies

The Lazaridis ScaleUp Program brings together the most promising high-growth tech companies from across the country and connects them with mentors from the world’s most successful firms. These men and women provide practical frameworks and guidance to address the challenges and opportunities faced by the leadership teams of scaling companies.

Education for Today’s Executives and Tomorrow’s Leaders

As part of the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University, the Institute creates direct links between international research, best practices in global scaling, and educational programming at the undergraduate, graduate and executive levels.

The Lazaridis School of Business and Economics

The Lazaridis Institute is housed in the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics, one of the most selective business schools in Canada. The Lazaridis School is located at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. Our home base anchors us in one of Canada's leading technology ecosystems, the Toronto-Waterloo Corridor.
