Dr. Constantin Blome

Constantin is the Academic Dean at Lancaster University, Leipzig. He is also Director of Research and Knowledge Exchange for BMEc since February 2018. Constantin is co-editor of International Journal of Operations & Production Management.

Previously, Constantin was a Professor of Operations Management and Associate Dean for Research at the University of Sussex Business School. He was also the GlaxoSmithKline Chaired Professor in Strategic Sourcing and Procurement at Universite catholique de Louvain, Belgium and affiliated with the Center of Operations Research and Econometrics (CORE) which he both still pursues on a part-time basis. He also taught at several international institutions, including: M.I.T., EBS Business School, Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, Michigan State University, and several others. Constantin studied at University of Bielefeld and Technical University of Berlin (M.Sc. and Ph.D.) and finished his habilitation at EBS Business School, Germany. He is also a certified purchasing and supply manager (C.P.M. and CPSM).

Constantin's research interests include supply chain management, procurement and operations management with strong focus on sustainability, innovation and risk issues. His research has been published among others in Journal of Business Logistics, Journal of Supply Chain Management, Journal of Operations Management, International Journal of Production Research, International Journal of Production Economics, International Journal of Operations & Production Management, and Journal of Business Ethics.

Constantin is also appointed member of the Club of Rome (EU Chapter), the German Chapter of the Club of Rome. He also currently serves as VP Europe for the Decision Sciences Institute, Chair of Membership Committee for Academy of Management, OM Division, as well as Associate Editor of Journal of Operations Management, Decision Sciences Journal and Decision Sciences Journal of Innovative Education and editorial board member for Journal of Supply Chain Management and Journal of Purchasing and Supply Management.
