The Lazaridis ScaleUp Program (2016-2023)

The Lazaridis ScaleUp program was pivotal in accelerating the growth of Canada’s most promising tech companies. The program empowered high-potential, fast-growing Canadian tech businesses to scale and compete globally by providing targeted support and expertise. These companies, driven by innovation in technology and data, contributed to Canada’s economic recovery.

Throughout the program, we supported approximately 726 founders, CEOs, and executive team members from over 70 scaling businesses across seven provinces. Collectively, these high-growth companies secured more than $2.1 billion in capital and achieved an outstanding average annual revenue growth of 98%. A key achievement of the ScaleUp program was its impact on diversity, with 44% of participating founders coming from underrepresented groups.

The ScaleUp program fostered a vibrant community of entrepreneurs. Through a highly competitive selection process, each cohort brought together exceptional companies whose founders and executives formed strong, lasting bonds. These relationships extended beyond the program, fostering collaboration and mutual support within Canada’s tech ecosystem.
