New Canada Research Chair Appointed as a Research Fellow at Harvard

Harvard Kennedy School’s Women and Public Policy Program (WAPPP) has announced the new incoming leaders in practice and research fellows for 2019-20. Included in the 11 appointments is Dr. Ivona Hideg, Associate Professor of Organizational Behaviour and Human Resource Management in the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics. Hideg has also been recently awarded the Canada Research Chair (CRC) (Tier II) in Organizational Leadership.

WAPPP creates and disseminates evidence-based strategies to advance women and promote gender equity. While working at Harvard, Hideg will interact and collaborate with the leaders in practice and research fellows, as well as students and faculty. The goal of WAPPP is to close gender gaps in leadership and economic opportunity.

“I am beyond thrilled to be appointed as a research fellow with Harvard Kennedy School’s WAPPP,” says Hideg on the appointment. “It is such an honour and privilege for my work to be recognized at this level and to have an opportunity to collaborate with, exchange ideas, and produce new knowledge through cutting-edge research with world-leading scholars in the issues surrounding gender equality at the Harvard Kennedy School. It is such an inspiration to be here and I look forward to my year at the Harvard Kennedy School and the outcomes that will hopefully further our knowledge and aid public policy around the world in regards to the issues of gender equality.”

As one of only two Canadians selected as a Research Fellow, Hideg has a powerful voice for research in workplace diversity, gender equality, and inclusion. The Lazaridis Institute is proud to support her research in this area and looks forward to her return in 2020.
